The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) Program is a 30-hour program which prepares individuals to administer prescribed medications, observe and report patient reactions and side effects, and perform related emergency and recording duties under the supervision of a professional registered nurse and/or registered pharmacist in assisted living residences and comprehensive personal care homes or assisted living programs. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to sit for the New Jersey State Certified Medication Aide exam.

CMA ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

Must be a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), Home Health Aide (CHHA) or (Patient Care Tech (PBT) in New Jersey
Must be at least 18 years old
Valid photo ID and Social Security number
High school diploma or GED
Physical exam and PPD/Chest X-ray (must be current)
Background check must be clear
