
This training prepares individuals to; administer prescribed medications, observe & report patient reactions & side effects, perform related emergency & recording duties under the supervision of a professional registered nurse and/or registered pharmacist; in an assisted living residences, comprehensive personal care homes or assisted living programs.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to sit for the New Jersey State Certified Medication Aide exam.

The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) Program is a 3 week, 30-hour program.
Medication safety & the 5 rights.
Measuring, preparing, and administering meds.
Understanding labels & MARs.
Documentation
Infection control for med pass.
Common medications.

To qualify for enrollment, you must be currently working at an Assisted Living Facility.
Must be a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), Home Health Aide (CHHA) or (Patient Care Tech (PCT), in the state of New Jersey.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Valid photo ID and Social Security number.
Must be at least 18 years old.
